Today, a member joining Crescent Pirates must have made a mistake of mass messaging his application to the server rather than PMing it to Alan.
Then someone sent it back and here's how it was.
(Note: This is not a PM, it was a mass message for everyone to see. So this is not breaking any rule against posting PM history.)

Have you ever been accused of scamming?
No.
What will be your first and last name on tag? (always where when on tag)
Raven Spitfyre or Redfyre(same as old).
Do you agree to donate 5 iron, 5 coal and 20 boards to CP before
receiving your Pirate rank? (this proves you are sincere and a hard worker)

This is not picking on the person who joined. He was said to have been a pirate before under Alan's ruling, and was simply rejoining.
My point is the application itself. Is this all there is to it? Do we all really think this is sufficient?
First, it BARELY touches the surface of RPing. It simply asks about first and last name (which isn't really totally enforced in the kingdom anyways- and names are even flexible with pirates).
The donation requirement does promote a sense of RPing. Maybe it could be improved as well- something less tedious and more value (donate a diamond).
I propose there be questions to show knowledge of RPing. The meanings of "Out of character" and "In character" would be good for a start (knowing their accronyms would be helpful as well, but it seems the more important problem is to get a grasp of their concepts first).
Afterall, we don't want people getting the wrong idea and running around in our kingdom with names such as "Jim Raynor" saying things such as "Arrg! Ye dirty n00bies aint got nothing over me!!! LOLZ!!!" (supposed to read that with a gradual change from stereotypical pirate voice to normal-obnoxious modern day person).
Also, I believe this would help the cause of RPing in CP which is what kingdoms are about, right? Having good ole' fashioned roleplaying fun.
