A Simple But Efficient Approach!

I have an amazing idea! I don’t think this has never been attempted and successfully completed by any Graalian that I am aware of. Why doesn’t someone create a server without fancy systems and amazing graphics? Everyone tries so hard to change the original playerworld theme to be different, but since there is no consistency with the playerworld’s theme it turns out looking just like all of the other servers. I wouldn’t mind seeing a playerworld which only offers wholesome quests which offer NPC goodies and fun items to play around with when you’re bored. The storyline could be non-linear and give people a variety of different paths to choose determined by their quest route. Instead of making difficult-to-understand systems and complicated worlds why not stick to the simple approach which is what founded Graal about six years ago? The tileset’s graphics do not have to change. The levels could be detailed nicely enough to look ‘comfortable’ and not too busy. The community would surely replicate the same feel which presided over Graal so long ago. Does anyone think this idea would work? If so then I will attempt the unimaginable.

Below is the overworld and map I have been working on for some time. This is just to show you what I have completed thus far.

Summary
1. Non-linear quests with simple rewards (even key items which unlock new quests leading to better items)
2. Detailed kingdoms, towns, villages, etc. (historic backgrounds and culturally enriched settings)
3. Intelligent guild, clan and kingdom tag usage.
4. Classic style atmosphere.
5. New classic style baddies.

Well, I believe this may have been done in several aspects, but there's also room for expansion. I am talking about bi-weekly updates and such. Players stop playing because of inner turmoil within staff. The updates start coming less and less, content becomes boring and dull, etc.

Not to mention I had a really good idea which, well, let's just say you risk dying venturing into this "other world" and leaving the safety of the other, but rare items are attainable, new areas are opened once you "warp" there. Hehe, no this isn't any warp ring effect either. Anywhere you go, you can warp to another area with the same landscape and architecture however it might be demolished in this world and overtaken by baddies and what not. This will make adventuring a lot more interesting.

I attached a picture of the overworld I have been working on for a while now...

Yeah, it's improperly named the Tetris River. However, scientifically it would be named a rough outline in which a person could come back later and add detailed curviture to the river.

Hehe, I am just messing back. I tried to expand on the overworld which Zelda used, lol. Y'know the shape and all? The way you wash ashore as Link...

Thanks for the compliment too.

The reason Graal isn't the same as it was years ago is not because the change in servers it's because lots of the people you knew back then have left.
The community of a server is a major part of making a server good, at least it is in my opinion.

Old Classic was like that before the NPC server.

Great quests, guilds, people, etc. Now we have one quest which is like a 5 minute "don't run into the bad tile" quest. I hope Classic from a year ago comes back.
