Suggestion: Mouse Controlled Turrets

It is a known fact that turrets are extremely hard to aim properly and are hardly ever used due to the fact that the player is immobile whilst in operation, despite them having a rapid rate of fire and doing considerable amounts of damage this is outweighed by the problem aforementioned.

Perhaps a solution to making turrets more useful would be to add the ability to aim them with the mouse, just click in whatever direction you want to shoot and the turret will turn that way and fire. Now this isn't to say that the turret can be instantly spammed in whatever direction the gunman pleases, although now easier to aim, it would still have to make the turn so that it gets into the correct position.

I just thought that this would be a neat feature to make Zone that little bit more easier and better.

I dont play Zone anymore, i know.. but it would suck if there will become MORE mouseoptions, It would be alot easier to shoot.. To easy

This, turrents were my main projectile weapon, very easy if your entire Zone skill didn't revolve around "HOLD S THEN RUN FORWARD"

Quit babying the players with all these options to make things easier, games are meant to be a challenge.

How is improving something that is inherently flawed "babying" the players? Adjusting from target to target using the current setup can't be done quickly, and it can hardly be called accurate. And last I checked, even if one can aim a turret, it's hardly an effective tool; give anyone a jetpack and the turret will be vacant in a few seconds anyway. At least if it's mouse controlled, you can use it well before you're forced out of it, or can have a decent chance at fighting someone off unless he/she is directly on you.

Make it mouse controlled but slow the turning rate drastically, I think.

Wow where have you been?

I don't think the turning rate should be slowed at all. When aiming turrets with the arrow keys you would have to line the shot up perfectly because it would sway from side to side and was extremely sensitive. The mouse merely removes this irritation from the game, and as Stefan and I have already stated for the rest of you, using a mouse to control the turrets won't make them spammable in every direction.

I can't really imagine how the current turn rate (or any turn rate) would work with the mouse, so I take back what I said about changing it.

Turning the turret would still take some time so it wouldn't be instant-firing

Hmm I voted yes but I've changed my mind. Being able to click on a person to kill them with Turret would be far to easy unless turret was nerfed.
