RC Ticker

Since many people don't us the forums or read the graal site...

I think it would be a good thing to add to the new RC. A RC ticker.

As long as it could be done with little to no network strain on clients or graal i think it would be an excellent idea to use this method make announcements to staff of playerworlds.

Yeah, I wanted a new page in the client on server list, dont know why that was never added, as most players agreed and it would be good

I like that idea better.
Have the first tab on the server list be "News" and just have a small web page display there to show the latest announcements.

[My thread so I'm bumping it. Plus, nothing's been added yet.]

Not a bad idea, but it should be in the client, not the RC. People that don't have the forums, don't have RC too.

Where would it go though? Mabey a window like the F2 (RPG Window), only not text crappy style. :o

We did once have a javascript task bar plugin scrolling by the ten most recent posts. It stopped working, however, when the forums were upgraded.

Unix posted that hack a while ago, mabey he took it off or something, that was useful.

And it was okay, but something linked to not just the forums would be nicer

We actually used it as RC ticker, iirc.
