Enhanced PM's

Likely has been mentioned before, but it would be great to add a feature that would save a message (with limitations) when the player was offline. Because sometimes you have to go, they are afk, then they come back and no message is there because you have logged off, and most don't sift through the "pm"'s folder regularly. Would just be something nice.

The whole PM system would have to be changed. If I'm not mistaken PMs are sent to players from a temporary ID they're given when they log on ;x That's why PMs go to the wrong person when the one you intended to direct it to logs off.

Ah, well I thought unsent messages might be sent to a small mySQL db and could be checked off-graal. But yeah, good point.

That's not the point. They are talking about when someone logs off then the message being sent.

Well then as soon as the message is sent, not when the message is read, could it be saved in your history with say something with it that would tell the server to resend it when you log back on? eep

Of course, such as Offline message sent at TIME and recieved at TIME, then deleted from the server that holds it and saved into the log file.

The current PM system sucks. Graal 3 should get enhanced PMs to encourage players to use it instead of the older version that most people use as of now.

I couldn't agree with you more, I always liked the idea of a specific box that all system messages and chat etc would be filtered through, including open chat, the over the head thing is retarded, nicknames should be disabled too. They also suck.

How could you enhance the PM system? Its all good saying enhance it but what enhancements are you suggesting?

I just suggested my idea, running all game text through a chat box, that would be displayed as part of the GUI, and could be toggled/scrolled through, instead of sending a "mass message" you could just use "/toall Blah, blah, blah, I am pestering the whole server with my message." instead of PMs as before, you simply type "/pm accountname, 'Blahblahblah, pestering people who don't care.'" instead of a buddy list, it should be such as "/buddy_add accountname" or "/ignore_add accountname" you can then view these lists with "/buddy" or "/ignore" and if you want to remove someone later "/buddy_remove accountname" and "/ignore_remove accountname" Also, to filter out certain unwanted text, it'd be simple "/filter -toall" or "/filter -pm".

Forgot to add, overhead text could be typed normally, "blahblahblah I can annoy everyone within a 9 level grid around my current level"

Nickname display can be turned off in the Graal options. The chatting improvements can be easier done with the new scripting engine, although thats already possible with the current script (to display it in a special box instead of above the heads).
The playerlist is probably one of the main reasons why people currently often don't use v3. V3 is often much faster and should solve some lag problems that players have. I am currently working on improving the playerlist for Graal3D/3.1, may be you could post some more ideas here so that I know what I should add
(thinks like customize the groups (not just admin, guild, buddy), display pms of people who logged out, display if someone has read the message)

Well, what I would like to see is an option for window resolution, and game resolution, that way I could run Graal at 640x480 as a game resolution, and the window is at 800x600, the extra area would be where I could put the windows and such, out of the way of the actual game. (It would appear as a black area, or so).

Sort of like a window in a window. This would solve the issue of not being able to move the PM window(s) outside of the Graal window.
