Sound Problem :(

Okay...not scripting but there was no catagory for this...

so please could u help.... i have scripted a instrument and it works correctly except for one thing!

no one can hear the sound!!! SFX's have been buggin me for a while some work some dont! when i upload! how can i upload them so they download into the players sound file because this is really annoying me lol..... please help

also the script works for me since i dragged the files into the sounds folder my self

I agree, this seems to be the best category.
Do you have set the correct folder configuration thingie?
Assuming you have the sound files as levels/sounds/foo.wav, you would need `file sounds/*.wav' or something similar.

yeah im using "file SFX/*.wav "

but for some reason even tho the files are in that folder it still wont work

You should lowercase sfx

damn, that didnt work neither....

i also tried making a folder just called Sounds

"file Sounds/wav*"

that still didnt work

what is going on?

*.wav, not wav*, eh?
Not sure, otherwise. Can you post the parts of the script that try to play something?
Anybody else, do we need a seperate sound-like directive in the folder config, or will file do fine?

Err.
That piece of script should not work

Can you, for testing, do something like:
NPC Code:
//#CLIENTSIDE
if (playerenters) {
play foo.wav;
message Playing...;
}


Does such work?

i did the test....and i tested ocean.wav which worked

and then my file.... which didnt work

I am not sure. I think sounds are allowed, but music is not.
