Concept sketch art

Just some concept art I did for a competition for a game...
Not sure how long it took, maybe an hour.
I usually wouldn't post... but Wan said I should...

[EDIT] By the by, I forgot to mention, it's supposed to be the Vampire lord in the game. And, it's a text game... so it's mostly originaly design, I used no reference or description.

1) Looks pretty good for a concept.
2) He reminds me alot of the dude (Aura?) from FFX.

A few things I noticed:

1. For a vamp lord he sure looks ghetto I would expect a huge cape with lots of folds and a bunch of fancy details maybe ornate armor and some decent boots. Instead we have a guy wearing what seems to be an old hand-me-down for a shirt and boots that look like the came out of a bad 80's movie.

2. with his puny arms he would never be able to hoist that mammoth sword/axe over his shoulder. however if for some reason he managed to accomplish this act he would be hunched over like he were lifting weights.

3. the folds on his pants are cool but 2 places they look very off.

4. his left chest muscle is a bit square and lopsided.

5. the expression on his face is dull for a vamp lord he should be vicious or something. Instead he appears to be a very laid back vampire lord looking like hes not real sure what is going on and he couldnt care less.

6. the sword does not look like it would work very well it is too big and clumbsy. I bet if he got in a fight he couldnt gather enough strenght to make a decent swing at his oponent.

7. the shoulder guard looks out of place. What is supporting it? seems to me its just magicly stuck there.

Over all not bad I like the shading and the pose isnt bad but it just dosnt fit the role of a vampire lord it seems more like a bandit or ranger or something.

I think it looks great! I sure can't draw cool stuff like that, not as well as that, anyway. The sword looks a bit like a giant bone, but maybe that's me or the black&white shading or something.
The only thing i can find which makes it look weird is that his left arm isn't in the sleeve of his coat. If he were to start fighting, his coat would come off and start flapping around, getting in his way!

Contrary to what people would think a lord vampire would be like... in the game is very layed back and relaxed.

He sits in his crypt until someone goes in and drags him out. He just sits down there. His attacks are fast yet... simple.
Because of his skill, he barely puts effort into killing.

And about his muscles, all I can say is he is not mortal, so it's hard to judge his strength by his physical appearance.
