how do I get the items from the god I pray to?

You need to have enough grace.

Low level = 50, medium level = 150, high level = 300 grace, each doubled by praying at the altar. If your grace doesn't double at the altar, it will after level 10 in wisdom.

I got to medium level grace once and couldn't get Ogma's bracers :o

So I can just set myself praying at the alter for a couple hours once I have level 10 wisdom and my amount of grace with just keep getting higher and eventually these items will come to me?

No - you need the base grace I mentioned, and praying at the altar will double it, which is necessary to reach the actual requirements.

@Waterlord: Ogma's bracers are about the only relics that don't work for some reason - except Aengus Bow which has no ganis and such...
