NPC Scripts

Well since we have the new updateboard2 and hasright() commands I thought this would be cool...a way to read and write to scripts in levels. I almost have this online level editor done, and this would be an awesome addon to it.

putnpc just puts a script in the level....I'm talking about commands where I can read and write to already existing scripts.

I don't see any way you could do that any better than putnpc2

You shouldn't need to recode on the fly. You should have enough sense to put everything the script needs from the beginning.

Giltwist, he's talking about an online script editor. Something to use for writing the script, not something to fix or alter old scripts.

Why not just use RC and wordpad for that?

I'd have to download the level from FTP, if it's .nw just open it in wordpad...but if it's .graal I'd have to open it in graal, find the script I'm looking for, and then opening it and getting it.

If you can edit levels online, it'd be good to be able to edit the scripts too. That way stuff could be updated in real-time and it would be a lot easier on testing and debugging and stuff.

Plus it lets you create your own script editing tools.
