Angry Casting = Screwed.

Even if an attack fails (due to having high ac) it still says "You were *HIT* by <account name> and lost the spell."

Observe the emphasis on "hit" people!

If it fails, tell me.....How in the blue hell were you *HIT*?

This is most likely one of the reasons people say it's impossible to cast a spell/prayer on another players...hey, if this didn't happen alot of spells/prayers would have been casted that could change the entire outcome of a match -_-

Example: Someone slashing you from infront while casting critical wounds and all his attacks fail due to you having uber high ac(happened to me I believe) and nothing comes out of your wand...this is annoying -_- If it works they would have probably died.

Example 2:You're healing by casting "heal" and facing a wall and someone slashes you in the back and the attack fails yet it still doesn't cast...how delightful.

FIX THIS PLEASE!

There should be no charging at all, just taking spell, and casting it.

There should be some charging, but it should depend on your Int or Power or something, magic level for spells, wisdom level for prayers. So it gets faster the more powerful you get. Anything but how they have it now, its insane, it takes like 2 minutes to cast Create Bomb.

True, you could just edit the gani's localy, i did that ages ago and it worked not to sure about now tho

Errm...I believe if you do it locally the gani would take place and there would still be a server-side pause before anything happens and you would still have the default gani on other players screens. It's like changing your idle gani...you may see yourself moving but you are actually in one place and everyone would see you correctly, you would see yourself screwed (moving.)

The Charge skill/spell/whatever, as I understand it, is supposed to let you precharge your spells. So you can duck behind a table, do the huge Lightning Bolt Charging thing, then dash out, aim, and fire instantly.

If it's not supposed to do that it should!!!

Yeah i tohught about that after I posted the remark

As for charging i mean if we where reading the spells from books then yes charging would be needed in essence *the time it takes for you to read the spell*
But seeing as how the spells are commited to memory then in theory there is no charge or there is a very little charge time seeing as how you know it.

I agree with the none showing of spells to other characters tho, I mean they could easily counter before the spell is casted, and most people when I am trying to LvL magic simply have a go at me either saying :-
"That spell is laggy"
or they just block the spell or hit me constantly.

This is very frustrating and makes you want to wack them with your wand :grrr:

I believe there should be a Lowres Spells option...

Or that someone should just tweak the ganis. If they're using mngs, they're gonna lag...has to do with the buffers used.

The wording is imperfect, but the idea is sound. Your AC partly represents your ability to see attacks coming and dodge them. It's reasonable, then, you assume that you're actively avoiding the blow and thus not concentrating on the spell.

D&D rules, concentration checks are based on damage done.

This game doesn't have concentration checks. If you're hit, you drop the spell instead of having at worst a 50% chance of failure at 0 damage. This is WHY mages are screwed - they have no chance.

I'm not saying the system is balanced or correctly implemented, I'm just saying that it's defensible in terms of realism.
