But I mean the NPC Message pops up because you get what was thrown at you. Blades aren't exactly the cheapest and easiest things to make, ya know, so no sense losing them all. Even if you got your shield up, you recover the thrown blade and get to keep it, or throw it back. Blade fights, two guys have blade selected for S and shield for D, you aim, fire, and block. If it's evenly matched, you never run out of ammo. ^_^

Yes but what if the blades are thrown in an arc? like the arrows are shot in an arc, the shield need to be able to held in a slanted postion over the head, like 45degree angle.
I think the romans used to make walls of shields, two rows of people, or three, one in the front to hold the sheilds vertical, on in the middle to shoot (from between the gaps in the shields) and the last row to hold the sheild at an angle, "total" protecton from a front of enemies.
