Slingshots?

I was thinking that maybe a new weapon can be introduced. The slingshot. To get the slingshot you need a couple of things. First off you would need 2 boards, they are for the creation of the slingshot (the main part of it). Than you must find rubber (in a miniquest or enter an idea here) and after you get those items you take it to a craftsmen. The craftsmen than puts the items together. Wait, you have no ammunition! So you must go into the mines and find some rocks by digging with the shovel and than you can use the slingshot as a long distance weapon (does damage, since snowball doesn't). Like the idea??

I'd rather just throw irons and blades like snowballs.

Or just select blade as a weapon and use it like a snowball.

But I mean the NPC Message pops up because you get what was thrown at you. Blades aren't exactly the cheapest and easiest things to make, ya know, so no sense losing them all. Even if you got your shield up, you recover the thrown blade and get to keep it, or throw it back. Blade fights, two guys have blade selected for S and shield for D, you aim, fire, and block. If it's evenly matched, you never run out of ammo. ^_^

Yes but what if the blades are thrown in an arc? like the arrows are shot in an arc, the shield need to be able to held in a slanted postion over the head, like 45degree angle.

I think the romans used to make walls of shields, two rows of people, or three, one in the front to hold the sheilds vertical, on in the middle to shoot (from between the gaps in the shields) and the last row to hold the sheild at an angle, "total" protecton from a front of enemies.

That's called a phalanx. I plan to try and implment this strategy to Dustari later on, since shields actually WORK now; it was very effective.
