Where do I go to find good events. And if so, will I actually be shown/told/given instruction on how it is played before it starts?

I usually just hang out and code things, I have been away for a while, so i can give a good perspective on new players and what they will face, i'm waiting for events that don't make you feel like crap because your new and don't know crap about them. I've tried dozens on a few servers now. Has anybody raised the bar at all?


And yes, I've tried searching event houses for rules, I've tried asking the event person, before, during, and immediately after an event, rarely do I get a reply about where/how to play even after the game is over, let alone before when i'm yelling, "Ok I clicked this event thing that popped up on my screen, how to play? what happens?"
