If you use Windows and are not sure what version of your Graphics driver you are running, then follow the following instructions to find out. This version number can then be compared with the most recent version of the drivers on your graphics card vendor's website, to decide if you need to upgrade your drivers.
It is recommended that you install the most recent graphics drivers. Drivers preinstalled on computers and old drivers are invariably bad.
These instructions are for Windows 2000 and XP, and may differ for earlier versions of Windows.
- Click Start and point to Settings/Control Panel, and select System. Alternatively, you can right click My Computer and click Properties.
- In the Hardware tab, select Device Manager.
- In the Display Adapters section, right-click your adapter and click Properties.
- On the Driver tab of the Properties box, are listed "Driver Provider", "Driver Date", "Driver Version". These are the version numbers for your drivers.
