If magic-casters had speed, and it didnt take an age to cast spells, they might stand a chance.
Also, if ogma wasn't so overpowered and poison didn't hinder speed so much, magicians might stand a chance after being hit once or twice.
But, they don't, and its 99% likely that they never will
