Its the same as most mountain ranges. Heat rises, but it also pushes itself away from land mass, so since mountains are surrounded by free air, the heat has plenty of space to spread out and not melt the snow. I've been on snowy mountaintops when it was ~60 degrees before, its nothing out of the ordinary. Kinda fun too, you get to have snowball fights in t-shirts and shorts :grin:
