Since I am another person with opinions, I am going to assume everyone wants to hear mine and embrace them.
All accounts should be able to log in to under construction servers, unless the owners of said server do not want them able to, that should be his/her own choice.
However, when someone buys a playerworld from Graal, it is already understood that this rule is in place. Therefore, if you want everyone to be able to enter, you have to go public.
Which once again arises the point James made; that of not accepting new servers. The servers were bought with an understanding that once fully developed in an acceptable way, they shall be put up. They SHOULD by all right have this oppurtunity. I believe anything COMPLETE with a fair quality (not even super good, just playable) should go on that hosted tab. All accounts should be able to play them. The stipulation of the hosted tab should be a limited run on it. If you fail to get a playerbase within said time period, go back to construction. If you get that playerbase, by all means go classic!
Decisions on the quality of a playerworld being made by a select group of few gives MASSIVE bias. The said system above illustrates a much better system, because anything open to the public will allow the public to truly show what their needs are. Servers that can obtain a playercount that is decent when everyone can play it, proves itsself much more then a vote or a "select team of qualified officials" could ever do. |
