Um....you've never really studied war before, have you? Well, let me enlighten you on something. Bow have been, and always WILL be more powerful than swords. You see, in medieval times, they eventually designed platemail, which made swords almost completely useless because the swords could not cut through it, they would simply bounce off. Arrows, on the other hand, punched through this thick layer of steel and killed the warrior. Thus, Bows are stronger than Swords.

1) No, way. I can fire off 500 shots on someone before I ever get to hit them, at the rate they run around now. Meanwhile, they stick me with a dagger, then run around for a period of time, then stick me with it again until I'm dead. Note, I'm running around at this point.
2) No, for the same reason as above. I can shoot many many times without ever being able to hit them since they move faster than arrows. You lower max power (Erm right, that's not possible to do without changing a large chunk of the system anyway.) and then bows will become exceedingly useless, since even when you hit them, you'll do crap damage.
3) Yes, I agree wholeheartedly with you on that. The explosions cause lag, which is very bad, for both the target and the shooter. And everyone around it as well.
My suggestion is that arrow speed should be raised. The arrows fly very slowly as it is now. Perhaps the speed at which they fly can be related to your physique level, since the stronger you are, the further you can pull the bowstring back?
If you implement this, then I'll accept lowering rate of fire, since this would make more sense, be more realistic, create less lag, and would be much more fair to both sides.
