Hm... sounds a bit complicated, but I see your point. Maybe - if each god has enough evemy monsters arround - killing those would serve the same purpose.
Also, if there would be any kind of war system, it could be added that your god smiles upon you for killing a follower of his enemy's cult - but only if he's your kingdom's enemy....
