Hrmm.. I had a screenshot of RC so I could see the placement of the buttons.. then I had my background image. I would make a selected section around the button I wanted then inverse so it would take the size of the image.. then I would drag that selection (not the image) to the plain background image and inverse it again so I got the square I wanted for my button. Copyed that.. pasted it into a new window and then cut the little button image out and pasted on the little button background.

Have no idea if that makes sense...
