You aren't supposed to have help.
This is an adventure game, meaning you are supposed to do things by yourself and *gasp* adventure!
Now yes, you can adventure *gasp once again* with more than one person, that is even more fun than going solo, but when a group of people, made to tell others where items are, is created it breaks the fun and adventuristic qualities of the game.
