You can use old tileset and still be different. They just have to have alot of small different objects in the overworld.
But frankly speaking that's not uinique 0.o, as in the PW, I didn't read all of the post, but there are PWs out there that are attempting same style (Am I the only one who noticed a huge amount of RPing PWs?), and I am sure some of them have far better presets. But good luck none the less.
