Okay, so I cut my class in half at the very start. Then I go on to teach... what? It depends. Does everybody have knowledge of vectors? No? Okay, let's go down a notch and teach something that bores the higher-levels.
There are other problems too. IRC is a terrible medium for teaching mathematics (the 'little' questions you talk about would end up being huge), and the lessons just wouldn't be long enough. If a twenty-year-old slacker could teach kids maths just by talking to them for half an hour then we wouldn't even
need schools.
