There are serveral rules pertaining to negative posting of others, but that doesn't mean its forbidden. Sometimes being publically rebuked is a good thing
There's a right way to criticize and a wrong way. The wrong way is that of people being belligerent about it (very common). Pointing out mistakes or correcting someone isn't necessarily being belligerent. It can be if the person criticized misinterprets and insults in response. I think that is the root of a lot of problems here.
