What I got from it is there will be three different types of servers.
1. Gold Servers - Don't really concern players about paying to stay up
2. Regular Server - Players with a classic upgrade can play. Staff pay a price say $10 for example a month to keep it up.
3. Other Server - Manager chooses to make it the "other" category. This means players must buy tokens to play here. Each token would probally represent so much time. Due to this the staff of the server do not need to pay full price to stay up. THey may only need to pay 5$ a month for example.
Personally I don't reaaly see the point in server type 3 unless the price to keep the server up is high. Other than that I think the majority will be type 2.
Although I do think it is a good way to both improve the quality of player worlds and to reduce the number of empty player worlds on the server list. That way people won't want to be paying to keep something up that no one but staff use. |
