What about people with older computers or no DX or no 3d card?
Can they turn lights off (and see perfectly well at night), or are they banned from the game they paid for? Or are they forced to carry stupid lamps wherever they go so that everyone else can see them as well as they can see everyone else? Or does everyone else vanish completely somehow, despite the lack of such a scripting command to hide and show specific other players to the client?

It would still be cool to see people carrying torches, lighting campfires or themselves, sitting around at night... would make RPing much more interesting,, but yeah, could be changed by players or screw p those who don't have it, but still, would be cool
Maybe you only notice it on battle? that way you dont have to see it, and battle is the RP mode now, sorta.
