I think the current Overworld is fine. There is a lot of room to add things. But well, without quests, it's just going to stay trees. The only problem is, that quests are not easy to make because in order to be fun, they have to be original. I mean, sure, classic had many quests, but how many of them were more than just killing baddies and pushing blocks around? All it gave you was a different dungeon layout. I'd try a few things, but the last time I did any scripting was pre-NPCServer, so I doubt that I'm anywhere near good enough to do the scripting required for a quest at all. (Besides, I'm just a player, it'd never go anywhere anyway. ^.~ ). But I dunno, as far as quest ideas...
Maybe an exploration thing, like a hidden ruins or something. You'd have to find your way through the confusing maze, while avoiding traps like boulders, spiked floors, fire shooting from the walls and such. There could be different floors, and each floor has a key on it. The key is protected by a puzzle however, and you need to figure it out to get the key. (Puzzles like lighting torches in a certain order, or solving riddles, maybe the occasional block pushing...-.-; ) After you get the key, you need to also find the door it goes to. On the final level of the ruins, waits the prize. Maybe some sort of special item, or at the very least, a fullheart. |
