No more death at zero health.

Just an idea that just came to me, thanks to Zurkiba and D&D.

For the short version, check below.

What if when you got to zero health (or rather -1 since zero isn't actually dying) you did not die? Instead, you would fall unconscience to the ground, unable to do ANYTHING for at least two minutes (not even unstick me). While in this state, you can still be attacked, but say, for example, you're in a dungeon, fighting with friends ..

You are attacking a dievil, and your friend is alongside you fighting it as well. The dievil is trying to kill you .. your health falls to -5, and you fall down to the ground, stunned. Your companion slays the monster, and you don't die! This would be much more realistic .. there have been many situations where I could have saved someone if it were like this.

How about if your health goes maybe .. a negative 30% of your full .. then you die? Example, you have 10 health; going below -3 health would kill you .. or say you have 100, going below -30 would kill you. Makes sense, I think.

Maybe there could be certain items that could wake someone back up. I think that healing spells (minor healing, et cetera) should only heal your health, but not wake you up..

Or, possibly, instead of a time limit, you get back up when your health fully regenerates. That would make sense, no? Wow, not to seem ****y or something, but this is a great idea! This would make a lot of people happier, don't you think? It would make death, for one, more realistic, and two ... a bit harder to get to.

Opinions on this? Personally, I would LOVE to see this added. This would work especially well in kingdom mode. If you were to actually die in kingdom mode, I think Aftershock's warp flag idea would fit well; but that's another thread.

Well, all my ideas together now, here it is summed up (short version):

Going below zero health does not kill someone, it makes the player fall unconscience. While down, a player can not do anything, including "unstick me". The player will not wake until either a certain time has passed or they have fully regenerated their health (possibly a mix of the two, would work nicely for those with very high HP). Healing spells can quicken the process of reawakening.

While unconscience, a player can still be attacked. However, attacks will not actually kill the player unless the attack brings the player's health below the negative 30% of the player's normal full health (-3 for 10HP, -6 for 20HP, rounded up). If killed, normal death penalties would apply, depending on the mode (peaceful, battle, or kingdom).

Any comments? Questions? Suggestions? I certainly hope Stefan gets a look at this; I would love to see this in-game. I'm done, now.
