The interesting thing about the word "Chauvinist" is that it makes no sense in relation to males vs females. Dictionary says that chavinism is a misplaced opinion that your 'group' (can be race, gender etc) is superior to another. But surely anybody can see that either males or females must be better than the other. There must be a superior gender, because for them to be equal suggests that all of each genders strengths cancel out the other's, and they're never going to do that
exactly.
So, males may be better than females (and if so then there cannot be such thing as a chauvinistic male) or females may be better than males (in which case there can be no such thing as a chauvinistic female), but only one half of the human race can ever be chauvinistic. And until one has proven that they are the superior, nobody can call anybody a chauvinist.
