but
did i ever once say ""Kai, help me?" The question was open to ANY AND EVERY scripter who knew the answer.
and about increasng the timeouts,
i added a sleep instead to intentionally complicate the script.
I meant to do that and I knew the alternative.
Its a habit from writing open source code that people pay me for
(yes, i actually get paid to program, not gscript of course).
There are simple ways I could do things, like document
and make algorithmic flows consistent.
But then anyone can look at the code, follow it,
and change to upgrade without me.
Part of preserving my space at the place i work is this
intentional complicaiton of things;
I know how it works even though its more work
for me to remember, others won't know what to do
without time and effort - so they are likely to keep me around
and i still get paid.
Actually not a bad job preservation habit to build. |
