Actually, Samurai did not always wear light armor. The Samurai Great-Armor was definately not light, though granted, it may have been lighter than Plate and such in medieval europe. Kingdoms should to a degree be limited to a look. When you think about it practically, Samurai would not wear european armor. Both because they wouldn't have had access too it, and for the actual Samurai caste in feudal japanese society, it would have been an affront to their ancesters to wear the armor of europe. Also, we should be going for at least a degree of realism, though not total realism which would be next too impossible
