As for foreign gods and worlds, I would personally not have a problem with it, because it leave another dimension out there for people to play with and imagine, but even this would have certain guidelines.

See? "You've always thought." So has everybody else who's played 2k2, and it's going to get incredibly confusing if everybody starts roleplaying with their own version of 2k2's history. If one person thinks the islands are a colony of the 2k1 kingdoms, another think it's 2k1 years in the future, and another thinks it's an entirely seperate world all together, we run into problems.
And personally, I think we should stick to the gods 2k2 already has. No point in creating dozens of new deities when there's already a set of universally accepted ones.
