Technically, anything in that game is their property whether it be names or places, it's their idea which is usually protected by laws. If Graal did not cost money, then sure, it would probably be okay to use that name, but for the sake of not making ripples in the water, it would be best to stay away from it.
Altough it sounds very ridiculous, Squaresoft could launch lawsuit pertaining to it if they wanted to...more than likely, they would win because its their intellectual property. Hell, even Nintendo could do the same but since they don't see the point, they don't appear to plan on doing it unless they are really needing money.
