You weren't helping delag at all. The baddies were all glitched, meaning they would constantly respawn dozens of themselves regardless. You killing tons of them had no effect whatsoever. You would go to one mushroom, kill all of them that sprouted, come back 5 minutes later and there would be dozens more there.
I love how people make excuses as to why they abuse glitches. I'm sure having tons of expensive food that you got from a glitch is really helping out the server in a big way.
