People think roleplaying makes servers good.

Yes, roleplaying is fun, but impossible to enforce. And those who can't roleplay but think they are tend to ruin the whole experience. Thus, I think servers should stay away from roleplaying.

Graal is NOT an RPG. It is an Adventure-RPG (As I like to call it.) RPGs are more statistic and equipment like (See G2K2,) Graal was ment to be an Adventure-RPG (See Classic.)

However, somewhere along the line, it got bumped off and now it's all bad.

I think that Criminal/Xbob's idea is a good one. Making it more Zelda-adventure-style-ish. I'd do that, but rocks know more about scripting then I do
The focus has been driven more from the adventure aspect to the roleplaying aspect. People would much rather play in a somewhat non-linear world If Tyme wanted, Classic could be extremely linear...but he has it linear enough to make a small story that can be added on to when needed.

For the most part, its simpler to make a non-linear world because you don't have to spend time on creating a real fancy storyline or series of quests and what not that help develop the story as you progress. While linear RPGs are fun, I like to be able to control what I see in the ways I want to
