There are reasons to keeping it open to the public.
1) There are players out there who demand new things quite often. G2K2 appeases them. Until something goes wrong.
2) Testing. Testing is extremely important. For your dream-server to ever come true, testing and debugging is a necessary part of it. Alpha in video games is synonymous with buggy, often-problematic.
3) To show the public the future of Graal. Once you get past the downers, the problems, etc., you can really see how the new coding and graphics could change the game. |
