Here is a simple solution. Don't celebrate REAL holidays on Graal. Instead, Graal should have holidays (of course it wouldn't be serverwide) But like, 2k1 could have "Bomy Day", an Anniversary, something like a christmas where people give eachother gifts (doesn't have to be anything like christmas otherwise), something like easter, and something like halloween.
I mean, last year Stefan celebrated Halloween on 2k1 with the whole haunted house thing that had a dancefloor and pk area with masks and candies and everything. He doesn't celebrate Halloween in his country though. I don't think it's a huge deal if a few people want to celebrate a special day.
But I feel that religion and ethnic cultures/backgrounds should not be on Graal. No actual Christmas with a baby jesus and whatnot, no 4th of July, no actual churces for religions, etc. I'm sure we are all very proud of our backgrounds or whatever, but it doesn't need to be in the game. I think people play Graal to get away from everyday life and the real world. Not to play the real world online. It's fantasy, that's the point. |
