Backtiles are, you are able to set the back tile, such as a green grass tile, and buildings don't have grass around the sides, they have pink, and the grass tile fills in the pink.

Now that would be really usefull.
Would save having to have lots of tiles for the different houses/tree stumps etc.
That seems like a pretty major thing that would make level editing easier.
Stefan should have added it a long time ago.
