Time for Mister Dark Cloud to repeat himself since Birdbird has an idea and refuses to see it die.

If you reset the server is as, you'll just be attacking the surface of the problems, which is money. Eventually all these things will grow back much like a weed grows back. Therefore you must destroy the root of the problem, THE BAD ECONOMY. Get rid of the damn hat selling business, make it between huamn and NPC and get rid of the ability to sell them, they were never made for this. Get rid of the dolls, whoever made these is a *****, it's just making the rich richer and the poor poorer. Make some quests, no they don't last for 2 hours, they are there for the newbies to go through as well and I still to this day see people go through quests. Make every job more fun for less profit somehow, the diamond axe gave too much profit to miners, as well as apple baking gave too much to the farmers.
Reduce the profit from pies.
Make the diamond axe deteriorate, not break, but deteriorate and be less useful until you pay to have it fixed.
Give snow cone making to the bomies and reduce the price a little.
Make fishing a bit more fun and the job as well, make them use skill and get more randomness to it.

Fix the economy first, then worry about reseting, or the problem will return in a couple months.

The people have spoken Birdbird, if you are giving them a reset, you had better damn well make it worth their while.
