Tyhm has a spectacular aura about
Caravans and stagecoaches, also good.
Starving a town out...hmm. It sounds like a good idea, but the implimentation's bugging me. I can just see the defenders staying behind their impenentrable walls, refusing to lower the gate because the raiders have to log off sometime.
Maybe there's an upkeep cost in food? If your kingdom goes without food for a week, the maintenance crews don't repair the gate and it can be destroyed...

Carrier pigeon PMs. Instead of a red bubble appearing, a white bird floats down to you. Click it to read the message and reply. The time it takes to deliver is dependant on the distance between the two points - further, they wouldn't be free. You can send and resend the same pigeon, and when you log off they just return to sender, but you can't send a PM if you don't have any pigeons...so you gotta go to the pigeon shop, buy one for a gralat, then send to Stefan "HEY STEFAN SPONSOR ME FOR GP PLZ!!!", and he reads it, then keeps the pigeon and you gotta buy a new one or wait for him to log off. ^__^

Also, if the pigeons could be killed...then the seiges would be way better, the king sends a pigeon to a member outside the castle to get support. The raiders shoot it down and the reinforcements never arrive. Muahahahahaha.
VERY IMPORTANT - NPC Control. When you go online, you set your NPC Behavior - stay here, fight these tags, defend these tags, avoid these tags - maybe just by setting a kingdom tag and allowing your generals to take control. WHEN YOU LOG OFF, and this is the part where NPCServ really shines, your player is replaced with an NPC Character, just like you but his name is gray. This way "you" exist 24/7, you're just not always playing your character.

Just think how much richer G2K2 would be if there were no anonymous NPCs. Instead of Skop and Jewel owning their respective shops, the kingdom owns the shops...when they need a shopkeeper, they find an NPC standing around (who would ordinarily be a player - let's say it's me) and order them "Work in Fish Shop!". Then the Tyhm NPC walks across the square, jumps over the counter, and waits on players who want to buy bait or sell fish. Then when I log on, I find myself working at the fish shop, say something rude about the king and why I ever joined the kingdom in the first place, hop over the counter and go off adventuring...a different NPC player will be assigned to working the counter. Heck, it could even be automatic, whoever's in the kingdom, closest, and not online. This could make some sweeeet defenses too - no matter when you visit Dustari Castle, TrueHeat's walking around behind the gate, ready to cut down any Zormites who dare attack.

You can do it, so do it already! This would be so cool!
