No. You want to introduce too many new rules and policies, and add a lot of new admins that are not needed. A help thread is not all that needed, people can post their questions in the GENERAL forum. You complain about Spam, yet you want to make this forums biggest spammer a super mod.
Your ideas, if put into play, would result in far more bans than are necessary. People want to express their thoughts about the admins and corruption, and they should be able to. They might even be right!
Blade50 is an isolated case (of spam). If the Mod options were working correctly, he would be warned and, if he didn't stop, later banned. That is pretty much how it has gone in the past, so that whole area of "new ideas" or whatever is pretty irrelevant.
As for the flames thing, it can get out of hand, but a lot of the people coming to this forum ARE children, and they will act as such. So, childish flaming will probably always be a big problem here, banning some of the worst flamers might help but only as a last resort. Flaming is probably our biggest problem.
Post counts, here is a simple way to help reduce the obsession over this. Remove the post count from being displayed on posts (but still viewable from the members area of the forum) We can see if that will help, which I think it will. If it's still very bad, we can think about another solution.
The version number "wars", isn't that bad anymore. I don't see people talking about this very much, how is it a problem? So what, if they want to lie, let them lie, nobody is going to believe them half the time anyway. And if you do, you shouldn't.
And your summary... all I have to say is, I'm glad you are not in a position of authority around here. |
