Because at that time, no civilian other than the scientists of the Manhattan project had ANY idea what kind of destruction, what kind of MONSTER, had been unleashed upon those cities. Now that we have been educated on what these terror weapons can do, in my opinion, if they were used by EITHER side, it would be condemened by the entire world.
