Which version of windows are you using? Normally you shouldn't have to but have you tried running it in either compatibility mode or as administrator? Also what are the specs on your computer? Is it possible it had to close because you don't have enough ram? Sorry for all the questions theres an endless number of reasons it could have failed, we simply need more information to help you.
