i get this problem too unless i open the editor in compatibility mode:
  1. browse to and right click GraalEditor.exe
  2. click 'Properties'
  3. click the 'Compatibility' tab
  4. tick 'Run this program in compatibility mode for:' and select 'Windows XP (Service Pack 3)'
  5. click 'Apply' and then 'Ok'

*note this may also be fine if you select Windows 7 or Vista etc, i just know it works for me when i select xp
