Yes, they have to be added to gmaps=, and once it hits a certain number, new GMAPs aren't loaded. The levels are still copied but they show up as single levels. Lots of other problems come with this.
Somebody just needs to remove the temporary GMAPs from gmaps= and then restart the NPC-server.
