Just because they are two separate countries, does not mean Rome didn't influence Italy in any way. Who built the buildings, the infrastructure, and the culture that resides in Italy? The Romans did.

The Roman Empire influenced every western culture ever, your point is moot.

Influence =! the same. Most spoken languages today are influenced by Latin. Including, but not limited to Italian. Spanish for example. That's why they're called Romance languages.

Italy uses the language of latin the same way the Romans did

No, Italy uses Italian. No one uses Latin the same way as the Romans because they used it as a commoner, low class language. No one today speaks Latin as a primary language.

Also, who cares what the scholars spoke?

Because you used the Roma example. The people of Roma were not slaves and farmers, they spoke and studied Greek and spoke Latin when they wanted to be hood.

So therefore, of course latin would have a bigger influence than Greece.

The entire Roman Empire is a knock off of Greece. Nothing influenced them more than the Greek.
It must still be April first where you live.
