Selling guns/items through the gelat shop (assuming this is what you meant instead of "gold system") is the worst thing you could do. Look at Zone.
It's still possible to make a pretty good profit off of the gelat shop.

That's about $6,500 for some minor items that don't ruin the game. If subscriptions were removed, more players would flood in, and more items like these could be added.
