There are times where arguments like this about having a "big operation" do not compare with the smaller more aggravating things. Think about how tiny cuts can hurt more annoyingly than a gaping hole in your leg. Analogies aside, your comparison still isn't on-par when taking into consideration your differences in duties. Anyone can simply play the game. I doubt you'd have wanted to even get on after your surgery to make the "big decisions" mentioned above though.
