I think people downplay rap because they don't understand it. There's two different levels of rap / hip-hop. There's your run of the mill rapper (sounds like nursery rhymes), jump, pumpk this girl i wanna hump - etc. Thats the rap most of you know of and?or listen to.
Then there's a much classier level, people defined as Lyricists who put phylosophical, political, idealistic ane realistic meaning into their style. They use pure class and creativity and focus on more than the generic, money, cars, clothes and etc.
Before you entirely downplay something, understand it, fully.
What I exhibited here was on the first level, simply nursery rhymes done in literally less than 2 minutes. Recording it is what takes time.
IF you're using this to judge overall hip-hop / rap, I guess im justified in saying Rock Music is goddamn retarded emos slitting their wrists while yelling into a microphone. Whos only talent is multitasking. |
