I prefer to the concept of a dungeon to a quest, even if the dungeon hosts some quest(s). Running around like a twit reminds me too much of WoW, and honestly that makes me cringe.

I agree, towns need more interesting content for players to interact with to give the town a purpose and a reason to visit. For most kingdoms it isn't an option to keep adding new towns to the islands and should improve the towns already on the islands.
