The blade itself looks fine and the idea of 2 parts almost mixed together is quite original.
Only thing I'd suggest is using more gray'd purple for the metallic look, your palette looks kind of basic. Make it brighter, revise the texture quickly and it should be epic =)

I'm also sure you can detail a bit more that handle, the black lines inside could be changed to really dark red.

Other than that, you've improved IMO.
